Privacy Policy

This is the website of Tim DiSabatino (timdisab.com), where I write about digital marketing, share the software I build, and offer consulting services. I like to keep things simple and honest, so here is a plain-language explanation of the small amount of information this site collects and how it is handled. The short version: I don't sell your data, and the site only collects what it needs to run a website and let you get in touch.

Information I collect

Forms. If you use the contact form or the subscribe box in the footer, I collect what you enter, your name, email address, and message on the contact form, or your email address on the subscribe form. These forms are handled by Netlify Forms, the form service built into my hosting provider. Submissions are stored in my Netlify account and emailed to me so I can read and reply. I use this information only to respond to you or, if you subscribed, to send occasional updates.

Booking a call. If you book a call using the scheduling link on this site, the booking is handled by Google Calendar. The name, email address, and any details you enter go to Google and appear on my calendar. That information is used only to schedule and hold the meeting.

Server logs. Like virtually every website, my host automatically records standard technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page that referred you, and the time of your request. This is ordinary server logging used to operate and protect the site.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics to understand basic, aggregate traffic, for example which pages are read most and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects usage data on my behalf. I use it only to understand overall site usage, not to identify you personally.

Apart from Google Analytics, this site does not set its own advertising or tracking cookies, and it shows no ads. There are no social media tracking pixels. Fonts and icons are served directly from timdisab.com rather than loaded from a third-party network, so no outside provider receives your details when they load.

You can control or block cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies won't stop you from reading the site.

A few trusted services help run this site. Each has its own privacy policy:

That is the complete list. Your information is never sold, rented, or shared beyond the services above, and those services process it only to provide their functionality.

If you subscribe, I will only use your email address to send updates from this site. You can unsubscribe at any time, or simply ask me to remove you.
